A Family Brand Since 1985. A Legacy Still Being Written.
Some brands are created for a business.
Others are born from a way of life.
For our family, the Y-Bar has always been more than a name or a symbol. It's a piece of our history, a reflection of our roots, and a legacy that began long before Y-Bar Customs ever came to be.
Rooted in the Ranch. Built on Family.
The Y-Bar brand was established in 1985, originating with our family's Y-Bar Ranch.
What began as a ranch brand became something much bigger—a symbol of family, hard work, perseverance, and the traditions passed from one generation to the next. Over the years, the Y-Bar name has continued to grow alongside our family, carrying its history into new ventures while remaining firmly rooted in the values that started it all. Today, that legacy lives on through Y-Bar Enterprises, LLC, our family's trucking business, and now through Y-Bar Customs, where we're bringing together our love of craftsmanship, creativity, and Western heritage. The work may look a little different than it did back in 1985, but the heart behind the brand hasn't changed.
Work hard. Take pride in what you do. A handshake is the same as a contract. Build something worth passing down.
Two Different Talents. One Shared Dream.
Behind Y-Bar Customs are husband-and-wife team Dakota and Maggie Yost, along with their four children and a whole lot of dreams.
Maggie brings imagination and creativity to the Y-Bar brand.
With a love for custom sewing, clothing, artwork, and handmade décor, she's constantly dreaming up new projects and finding inspiration in the world around her. Whether she's designing Western-inspired apparel, creating a one-of-a-kind wall piece, working at her sewing machine, or baking something delicious, there's usually a creative project underway. And somewhere in the middle of it all, she's also raising four children and doing her best to maintain a little sanity. Some days, that's the biggest project of all. Thankfully, Dakota is just as involved in raising their little crew, and together they've built a life where family, work, and creativity are all wonderfully intertwined.
Dakota has never been one to shy away from hard work. He owns and operates his truck as part of the family business, Y-Bar Enterprises, LLC, and handles the mechanical work that comes with keeping a trucking operation moving. But his talents don't stop under the hood. When he isn't trucking or turning wrenches, you'll often find him in the shop, working with wood and steel. From handcrafted dining tables and chairs to nightstands, end tables, lamps, and custom metal creations, Dakota has a knack for seeing the potential in raw materials and turning them into something both beautiful and functional. He appreciates solid craftsmanship, practical design, and the satisfaction of building something with his own two hands.
Meet Our Little Crew
Of course, no family story would be complete without the four little personalities who make every day an adventure.
Emersyn, 7, is our little fashion enthusiast and Mom's favorite expo companion. She loves tagging along with Maggie to shows, taking in all the beautiful creations, and being part of the excitement. With her eye for fashion and love of all things creative, we wouldn't be surprised if she's designing her own collection someday.
Oaklynn, 4, is our outdoor girl. She's happiest when she's tagging along with Dad, helping in the shop, exploring outside, or getting involved in whatever project is happening. A little dirt, a few tools, and a whole lot of curiosity are right up her alley.
Then there are our twin boys, Holdyn & Hudsyn, just 7 months old. It's still a little early to know whether they'll follow Dad into the shop, join Mom on the creative side, or blaze their own trails entirely. But one thing is already certain: they love being outdoors, especially when the whole family heads out on a camping trip.
Between four kids, a trucking company, a workshop, and a growing creative business, life at the Yost house is rarely quiet.
But we wouldn't trade it for anything.
Where Artistry Meets Craftsmanship
Y-Bar Customs grew from the idea that Maggie had, where two very different talents could come together under one meaningful name.
For Dakota, it's the beauty of raw wood, the strength of steel, and the craftsmanship that turns ordinary materials into lasting pieces. For Maggie, it's the freedom to create, the beauty found in natural textures, and the joy of making something personal and unique. Together, those passions became the three sides of Y-Bar Customs.
The Outfitters

Different creations. Different talents.
One family. One brand. One shared appreciation for things made with care.
More Than a Name
To us, Y-Bar Customs is about more than selling clothing, artwork, or furniture. It's about honoring where we came from while building something of our own. It's about a dining table that becomes the gathering place for family memories. A piece of artwork that makes a house feel like home. A favorite sweatshirt worn on camping trips, ranch days, and everyday adventures. And most importantly, it's about showing our children that with hard work, imagination, and a willingness to learn, you can create something meaningful from the ground up.
The Y-Bar brand began in 1985 with Dakota's parents, Larry and Joanne Yost. It has traveled through years of ranching, trucking, hard work, and family life. Now, as we raise the next generation, we're proud to carry that legacy forward in a new way. We don't know exactly where Y-Bar Customs will take us, but we know what will always be at the center of it.
Family. Heritage. Artistry. Craftsmanship.
And a brand worth passing down.
